Steelville Girls End Season, Fall To Whitfield In State Sectionals

(HILLSBORO) – The Steelville Cardinals ended their season Wednesday with a 68-40 loss to the Whitfield Warriors in a Class 3 girls basketball sectional game heard on J-98. After trailing by 11 points at halftime, Steelville came close in the second half, cutting the deficit to four.
Senior Hannah Cottrell led the Cardinals with 11 points. Steelville coach Seth Collins says despite the loss, he’s proud of his team.
The Cardinals finish their season at 24-5 after capturing their first district championship in program history.
