Steelville Looks to Bounce Back After Tough Semifinal Loss

(Springfield) The Steelville Lady Cardinals fell in heartbreaking fashion last night to Lift for Life Academy in the Class 3 semis, but have a chance to bounce back today and bring home some hardware as they’ll take on the Tipton Cardinals in the Class 3 third place game on J-98.

Steelville dropped their semifinal game 50-49 after leading by 15 points to start the third quarter. On the other side, the Tipton Cardinals also fell in heartbreaking fashion as they got beat in overtime 58-52 by the Skyline Tigers. Both teams will be looking to leave Springfield on a high note. This is the first trip for Steelville to the final four, however, they wont’ be satisfied with anything less than a trophy and the same can be said for Tipton. The Cardinals of Tipton made it to the Class 2 championship last year, but fell to East Buchanan 62-51.

The Steelville Cardinals (23-7) take on the Tipton Cardinals (25-5) in the Class 3 3rd Place Game on J-98 The Boot at noon today.
