Steelville’s Booker Sets Scoring Mark; Named Applebees of Farmington Athlete of Week

(Steelville) It was quite a week for Steelville senior Sydney Booker. She not only became the school’s all time leading scorer in basketball, but she also led her team to the first final four in school history, making her our Applebees of Farmington Athlete of the Week. Booker scored 22 points against five time defending state champion Stafford and then put in 17 more points in the state quarterfinal against Miller. That’s when she topped the 1600 point mark for her career and become the all time leader for the Cardinals. Coach Seth Collins says Booker always gives his team an answer…

Booker goes to final four with 1609 career points, overtaking 2018 Steelville grad Hannah Cottrell. As the Applebees of Farmington Athlete of the Week, Booker receives a certificate, a tshirt and a gift certificate for a free entree at Applebees of Farmington.  We’ll broadcast Steelville’s two games from the state Final Four starting with their semifinal game against Lift for Life Friday evening at 5:45 on the mymoinfo sportstream.
