Steelville’s Hannah Cottrell Passes 1,500 Career Points

(STEELVILLE) – It’s been a memorable season for Steelville Cardinals senior Hannah Cottrell. Not only did she take the all-time career scoring record in Steelville girls basketball history, but she also reached the 1,500-point mark for her career during her senior night game against Belle on Monday. Cottrell describes the moment after she hit the shot to put her over the mark.
Cottrell says leading up to the day she eclipsed the mark, she wasn’t thinking about her own stats.
Steelville worked to a 21-4 record this season and earned the Gasconade Valley Conference championship. Cottrell says she would love to add a district championship to that resume.
The Cardinals are the #2 seed in the Class 3 District 3 tournament and will take on St. Pius in their first round matchup Saturday night in Cuba.
