(Steelville) Steelville senior Laine Cottrell will remain a Cardinal after deciding to continue her track career at Mineral Area College. There were other schools in the mix but Cottrell couldn’t pass up what MAC had to offer…

Cottrell had an illustrious career for Steelville. She was a 3-time All State honoree, 10-time All District, 10-time conference champion and was the anchor for the 4-by-100 relay team that finished 8th at State this year. She also has the school record for 300 meter hurdles and anticipates taking that one step further at MAC…

She has a very upbeat attitude that Steelville track coach Zach Kennedy is going to miss come next season…

As far as translating her leadership skills from high school to college, Cottrell is going to attack the next level the same way she always has…

Cottrell may miss her teammates at Steelville, but she’s going into a pretty good situation at MAC. The Cardinals finished 2nd at the NJCAA National Meet this past season.
