(FREDERICKTOWN) The Perryville Pirates improve to 3-1 after their 25-7 victory over the Fredericktown Blackcats on the Cole’s Tractor and Equipment WebTV broadcast.

Fredericktown struggled to hang on to the football early on with three fumbles and an interception. Off those turnovers, the Pirates were able to get a 4-yard touchdown run from Caleb Gremaud and a 31-yard field goal by Eli Bierk to lead 10-0 in the 2nd.

After a Fredericktown punt midway thru the 2nd, Perryville went 37 yards and capped it off with an impressive Drew Hotop-to-Carter Dix 20-yard pass and catch. Pirates head coach shares his thoughts on the play.

Perryville got the first touchdown of the 2nd half, extending it’s 18-0 halftime lead to 24-0 with a 5-yard James Rhoden run. Coach Boss gave Rhoden the rock four times on that drive, before letting him take it in for six.

Fredericktown wound up getting the final touchdown of the game with Noah Korokis slicing and dicing through the Pirates defense 57 yards for the score. Blackcats head coach Chuck Ford likes Korokis a lot.

The final score again, Perryville 25 and Fredericktown 7. Perryville is now 3-1 and will host crosstown rival St. Vincent next Friday. Fredericktown at 1-3 will pay a visit to Potosi.
