Stolen Vehicle Recovered after Short Pursuit with Sheriff’s Deputies

(Jefferson County) Authorities in Jefferson County were involved in a short pursuit back on June 21st after a sheriff’s deputy spotted a vehicle that was stolen from the side of the road in the area of the 2200 block of Festus Horine Road.

According to the reporting party, they were driving their 2002 Ford Mustang GT when they travelled off the road partially.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Grant Bissell says that’s when two men in a blue SUV pulled up and offered to help.

The owner of the vehicle ended up calling authorities and a stolen vehicle report was filed.

It was later that same day when someone else spotted the Mustang at a gas station on Highway 141 near Highway 21.

The suspect, a 38-year-old man from House Springs was later taken into custody.

The vehicle, which sustained a considerable amount of damage, has since been returned to the owner.
