(FESTUS) The host Jefferson Blue Jays punched their ticket to the Class 3 District 3 Championship game Tuesday night, defeating the Scott City Rams 58-43. After a back and forth opening frame, the Jefferson suffocating defense held the Scott City Rams to only one field goal and 4 total points in the second quarter giving the Blue Jays an 18-12 lead at the break.

The strong defense would continue in the second half and go along with 40 second half points as the Applebees of Farmington Player of the Game Jon Weik would catch fire and help lead his team to victory.

Wiek would end with a game high 19 points for Jefferson. After the game Blue Jays head coach Sean Breeze said he was happy for those who have been working for this for a long time.

Jefferson earns their school record 18th win on the season and will play the winner of tomorrows semi final match between St. Pius and Arcadia Valley in the Class 3 District 3 Championship Game Friday night.
