(Festus) The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has affected everyone’s lives in some way shape or form.

Some of the people most affected by the virus have been workers in the education system along with students they teach.

The Festus School District, like all other schools in Missouri, has permanently closed its facilities for the remainder of the school year.

However, Superintendent Dr. Link Luttrell says even with the campus closed, daily educational instruction continues for students in the district.

Dr. Luttrell also addresses high school seniors that would technically be graduating at the end of next month.

The school’s meal service program for students also continues Monday through Friday from 10 until noon through Friday, May 22.

According to Dr. Luttell, on Friday’s the Brendan’s Backpacks program offers 4 free meals for students to eat at home over the weekend.
