Suspect in Custody Following Standoff with Authorities Outside of Arnold

(Jefferson County) After more than 8 hours the standoff between authorities and an armed suspect in Jefferson County is over with one male in custody.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the 3000 block of Adayah Lane outside of Arnold around 3:20 on Monday morning in reference to a disturbance.

According to sheriff’s office spokesman Grant Bissell, when deputies arrived on scene they heard gunfire which they believed was directed at them.

The female victim was transported to an area hospital for a single gunshot wound to the chest; however, her injuries are said to be non-life threatening and she is expected to recover.

Bissell says the attempt to end the standoff continued after the two female hostages were recovered.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

The third female was recovered with no injury.

The name of the suspect has not been released pending formal charges from the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
