SWAT serving warrants is a new normal

(Cedar Hill) 36-year old Anthony Legens of Cedar Hill was shot and killed while exchanging gunfire with members of the Jefferson County SWAT team this past Friday night. Legens allegedly began shooting at members of law enforcement soon after arriving on the scene to serve a search warrant. Sheriff Dave Marshak says there is a reason why special operations will serve most warrants.

Sheriff Marshak says the office anticipated the possibility of a violent exchange.

Jefferson County Deputy Zach Faulkner was hit by gunfire below the vest during the incident, in what was believed to be a ricochet or a skipped round. Faulkner remains hospitalized in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
