Teen From Sullivan Killed While Walking on Interstate in Crawford County

(Sullivan) A pedestrian was killed early Monday morning after being struck by a pickup truck in Crawford County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident took place on I-44 at mile marker 222.4 near Sullivan when a Chevy Silverado driven by 29-year-old Zach Conover of Lewisville, Texas struck a pedestrian, 18-year-old Kaitlyn Rhoads of Sullivan who had entered the roadway.

Conover then lost control of the truck and it ran off the road.

Rhoads was pronounced dead at the scene by Crawford County deputy coroner Nikki Bussell.

Conover was not injured.
