(HILLSBORO, Mo.) Night one of the 62nd annual Gene Steighorst Tournament is in the books and both the number one seeded Hillsboro Hawks and the fourth seeded Festus Tigers advanced to the semifinals in games heard on KJFF Monday night.

Festus was lead in scoring by Daniel Portell with 16 points and Owen Horsley with 15. Topping the list on DeSoto scores was Clayton Snudden and Austin West with 25 points each. The win puts the Tigers at 3-1 while the loss drops the Dragons at 3-3 on the year.
