The St. Pius and Herculaneum Girls Basketball Game on KJFF Presents Two of Jefferson County’s Best

(HERCULANEUM) Tonight is a Jefferson County Small Schools Conference girls basketball game with the Herculaneum Blackcats hosting the St. Pius Lancers at 7 on AM 1400 KJFF.

The 13-1 St. Pius record through the first 14 games is the best record for the program since going 14-0 in the 2009-2010 season. Defense has been getting the job done all season-long for the Lady Lancers as only 3 of their 14 opponents have broken the 40-point barrier.

Head coach Aaron Portell will rely on smart and tough defense once again to slow down the likes of Paige Fowler and Taylor Metcalf.

The Lady Blackcats are off to a 9-4 start and are currently riding a 5-game winning streak into tonight. Head Coach Riley Blair has talked about the offense taking its time when operating against the St. Pius defense.

Tonight’s game at Herky between the Lancers and the Blackcats is the first conference game of the season for either side. The Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show will begin at 6:45 on AM 1400 KJFF.
