Thieves Targeting Vehicle Parts

(St. Francois County) The St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department is noticing a new trend involving vehicle associated thefts. Sheriff Dan Bullock says it’s not necessarily the vehicles thieves are targeting, but a specific part of the vehicle.

The sheriff says they are still trying to get a handle on this type of theft.

The catalytic converters apparently contain precious metals such as platinum and rhodium, making them an attractive target for thieves.
