Third Inning Rally Propels Farmington Past Fredericktown

(Farmington) It was senior night at Wilson Rozier Ballpark tonight and the Farmington Knights defeated the Fredericktown Blackcats 5-1. The Blackcats got on the board early in the top of the third.

But Farmington was able to immediatley rally at the bottom of the inning, scoring five straight runs.

Farmington Senior Justin Mattingly got the start on the pitchers mound and went wire to wire for the Knights.

Mattingly was our Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game with 8 strikeouts and only gave up 6 hits and a run. He also knocked in one run for the Knights en route to victory. Head Coach Josh Hoehn says this is one of his team’s best performances in the early season.

Mattingly says it was an emotional senior night.

Farmington improves to 3-4 on the season and will travel to Imperial to face Windsor on Saturday. Fredericktown falls to 4-5 and will play at Potosi next Tuesday.
