Three-Car Pile-Up In St. Francois County Sends Three To Hospital

(St. Francois County) A three-car accident in St. Francois County Monday afternoon sent three people to the hospital. Highway patrol says the crash occurred on US-67 at Hilderecht Road around 1 p.m. Monday. 39-year-old J.D. Jagelovicz of Fredericktown was trailing 31-year-old Adam Whited of Fredericktown on southbound-67 when an eastbound 2017 Nissan Altima attempted to cross in front of Whited’s 2001 Ford F-150. Whited’s truck struck the driver side of the Nissan, driven by 69-year-old Beverly Mapes of Farmington, spinning Mapes around and forcing a collision with Jagelovicz’s 2013 Ram 1500. Mapes’ vehicle was pushed off the road. While Jagelovicz wasn’t injured, Mapes suffered serious injuries and was flown to Mercy Hospital St. Louis. Whited and an occupant in his truck, 26-year-old Brittney Aubertin of Fredericktown, sustained moderate and minor injuries, respectively, and both were taken to Parkland Health Center in Farmington.
