(Cuba) Medical-grade marijuana will be grown in or near a few southeast Missouri communities. Missouri’s Department of Health and Senior Services released a list last week of 60 approved applications from among more than 500 that had been submitted earlier this year.

The D.H.S.S. approved medical marijuana grow facilities to two companies in Perryville, two companies in Cuba along with a single grow facility in Saint Mary in Ste. Genevieve County.

Application were denied to other companies wanting to open grows in Perryville and Cuba. Other rejections included companies wanting to grow medical marijuana in Ste. Genevieve, Bourbon, Salem, Jadwin, Imperial, Glenallen, Farmington, Ironton, Desoto, Piedmont, Silva, Festus, Bunker, Ellington, Hillsboro and Potosi.
