Three traffic accidents in Jefferson County over the weekend

A number of accidents happened on our area roads over the weekend. A two-vehicle accident sent three people to the hospital on Friday night. The Highway Patrol reports that a 2013 Buick Lacrosse driven by 47-year-old Kurt Wengart was traveling Northbound on Route B, South of Kempa Road when he began to skid because of wet pavement, he traveled off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and crossed the yellow line and struck the front end of a 2017 Dodge Journey driven by Catawissa resident, 41-year-old Christina Acton. Kurt Wengert was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson with minor injuries, and his passenger, a juvenile was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson with moderate injuries. A passenger in Acton’s car, 36-year-old Angelica Frye of House Springs, was taken by ambulance to Mery Hospital South with moderate injuries, and a juvenile passenger was taken to Children’s Hospital with moderate injuries as well. The accident happened at 7:41 on Friday night.
On Saturday Morning a motorcycle accident sent a St. Charles man to the hospital. The Highway Patrol reports that 31-year-old Kaylan Pothabathula was traveling Southbound on route NN near Salamone Road on his Honda CBR-650 when he overturned and was ejected from the bike. He was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South with moderate injuries. The accident happened at 9:35 am on Saturday.
Then on Sunday night, a motorcycle accident sent a 72-year-old Hillsboro man to the hospital. The Highway Patrol reports that Glen Feager was traveling on his Honda CHF5, Westbound on Klable Road near old Lemay Ferry Road, when his side view mirror struck the edge of a road sign causing Feager to overturn and thus ejecting him from the motorcycle. He was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South with moderate injuries. He was not wearing his helmet at the time of the accident which took place at 6:48 pm on Sunday night
