Time To Crack Down On Expired License Plates And Tags

(HILLSBORO) The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies are ready to start cracking down on vehicles with long expired license plates and temporary tags. Sheriff Dave Marshak says they will be looking closer at those vehicles moving forward.
Sheriff Marshak says several vehicles have expired temp tags due to not having the funds to pay the sales taxes.
Many law enforcement agencies were not issuing tickets for expired plates and tags during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, but many feel the time is now to start issuing citations for those offenders.
