Tough Start for Mineral Area 14-Year-Olds in Midwest Plains Babe Ruth Regional Tournament

(Garden City) The Mineral Area Bulldogs 14-year-old baseball team, representing the state of Missouri, had a rough start today in the Midwest Plains Babe Ruth Regional Tournament being played in Garden City, Kansas.

Colorado downed Mineral Area 18 to 5.

Mineral Area could still turn things around and win the tournament but it’s going to be tough.

The Bulldogs play two games Saturday.

They play Junction City, Kansas at 10 a.m. and they will play Dickinson, North Dakota at 5:30 Saturday evening.

Mineral Area will have one more scheduled round robin game Sunday afternoon at 3 when they play the host team Garden City, Kansas.

There are 7 teams in this tournament and if Mineral Area is one of the top 4 teams after round robin play, they would advance to bracket play on Monday.

The championship game is scheduled for 2:30 Monday afternoon.

The Midwest Plains champ moves on to the 14-year-old Babe Ruth World Series.

The World Series is scheduled for August 14th through the 21st in Ottumwa, Iowa.
