Tracey Perry named new Jefferson County Public Administrator

(Hillsboro) Jefferson County Executive Dennis Gannon has announced a new Public Administrator to replace the retiring Steve Farmer. Tracey Perry was named to serve in the role for the remainder of the current term, which ends in December 2024. Perry, who had been working in a similar field, says she was interested in the position after she heard of Steve’s pending retirement.

Perry has a master’s degree in Human Resources Management, a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, over 20 years of military experience, and 19 years of experience working specifically with the Public Administrator’s office assisting with the care and oversight of the appointed wards as a social worker. She says she’s always been about helping people.

Perry says she spent the last ten years working for nursing homes.

Perry also served as a member of the Jefferson County Council in District 5. She had to resign from that position after moving out of the District 5 boundary. She will begin her first day as Public Administrator today (Monday) as she will shadow Steve Farmer until he officially steps down on May 22nd.
