Tracey Perry resigns from Jefferson County Council

(Hillsboro) Tracey Perry has resigned from her position as Jefferson County Councilwoman in District 5. Perry submitted her letter of resignation to County Executive Dennis Gannon this week. Perry will be moving out of her current district to a residence near DeSoto, which is in District 6, and since she changed her address on her driver’s license, she had to resign.

Perry did not file to run again in District 5, since she was moving out of the district, but she hopes the council can find a replacement for her council seat before the elections.

Perry also served as the District Chair, and that will have to be addressed as well.

There are three people who have signed up to run for the Republican nomination for the District 5 Councilperson in August, Scott Seek of Festus, Tony Pousosa of Herculaneum, and Robert “Bobby” Kaye of Festus. The current members of the County Council will have to decide on a temporary replacement.
