Tractor-trailer overturns on I-55 during Saturday storm

(Pevely) A 2023 Freightliner tractor-trailer was traveling south on I-55 and overturned on Saturday night. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a tornado touched down and blew the 18-wheeler onto its driver’s side just south of the Highway Z exit in Pevely. The driver, 31-year-old Robert Wright of Midwest City, Oklahoma suffered just minor injuries in the accident and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson. The accident took place at 6:42 Saturday night, which is around the time tornado warnings were active in the area.
