(De Soto) The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) plans to add a traffic light at the intersection of Highway 21 and 110 near De Soto.
MoDOT Engineer Stephen O’Connor says an increase in traffic volume and accidents is a big reason why they are going to be adding a traffic light at the intersection.
Bids are not expected to go out until September with MoDOT hoping to have a contractor selected by October.
At that point it’s up to the contractor to begin the road project late this year or wait until early 2022.
According to O’Connor, MoDOT is estimating the project to cost between 300-thousand and 600-thousand dollars.
