Tuesday traffic accidents

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Route Z east of Mapaville Hematite Road on Tuesday afternoon. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 75-year old Terry Koenig of Belleville Illinois was driving a 2009 Lincoln Town Car in the opposite lane of travel and struck a 2007 Ford F150 driven by 59-year old Jay Wolk of Festus. Both Koenig and Wolk were taken by ambulance to Mercy Jefferson, Koenig with serious injuries, and Wolk with minor injuries. The accident took place at 4:15 Tuesday afternoon.

Two people were also injured after a two-vehicle accident on southbound Highway 141 at Fiedler Lane on Tuesday night. The Highway Patrol reports 50-year old Lisa Buehler of Arnold failed to stop at a solid red light and struck a 2017 Jeep Patriot driven by 34-year old Misty Matney of Arnold who was making a left turn into the southbound lanes of Highway 141. Buehler was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis with moderate injuries, while Matney was taken by private conveyance to Mercy South with minor injuries. The accident took place a little before 7:30 Tuesday night.
