Twin Cities closer to working with Great Streets

(Festus, Crystal City) The cities of Festus and Crystal City have all but signed on to work with the Great Streets program within the East-West Gateway group. Festus City Administrator Greg Camp says Great Streets will provide a study to see how the cities, concentrated from city hall to city hall can be improved.

Camp believes now is a good time to move forward, considering the momentum of new business that have moved in along Festus Main Street and Bailey Road.

Sometime in the near future, Festus Main Street will officially be deemed historic by the state, thanks to the efforts of the Historic Tanglefoot Association.

The Great Streets program has also worked with the City of Kimmswick, providing studies to improve the commercial and commerce sections of their town.
