Twin City Firecracker Festival carnival moved to the gazebo and park side

(Festus, Crystal City) There will be one big change to this year’s Twin City Firecracker Festival, as the carnival rides will be moved to the park side of Larry G. Crites Memorial Park. Barb Lowry is the Director of Tourism and Recreation for the City of Festus. She says having the rides on the same side of the park as the concert and vendors will help with safety, and Captain Lewis Pippen made the suggestion.

The move will also open up the ballfields’ parking lot as another parking option for visitors. The carnival rides will open up on Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock and continue until 11. On Saturday morning, the carnival opens at 11 and will close at 11 that night.
