Two from Park Hills Killed in Washington County Crash

(Pea Ridge) Two people from Park Hills were killed and two others injured after a two vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Washington County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident took place at 24505 Highway 185, just outside the boundaries of the Pea Ridge Conservation Area when a Buick Rendezvous driven by 61-year-old Karen Medlin of Park Hills was traveling northwest on 185 while a GMC pickup truck driven by 55-year-old Robert Schneider of Park Hills was moving southeast on 185.

The front of the pickup struck head-on with Medlin’s vehicle.

Washington County Coroner Steve Hatfield pronounced Medlin and her passenger, 90-year-old Norma Montgomery dead at the scene about two hours after the crash.

Schneider received moderate injuries and was taken to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and he had a 10-year-old male passenger who received minor injuries.

The boy was taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
