Two injured in Jefferson County head-on auto collision

A St. Louis woman was seriously injured and one other person was injured in a 2-vehicle accident Friday morning in Jefferson County.

The Highway Patrol reports 26-year-old Ashley Schrum of St. Louis was driving south on I-55 when she traveled off the right side of the road.

Schrum kept going onto the west outer road where 60-year-old Rena Mooney of Imperial was driving south, leading to both vehicles colliding head-on.

Mooney was moderately injured in the crash.

Both Schrum and Mooney were taken to Mercy Hospital South for treatment.
