Two men arrested for robbery, kidnapping, stolen vehicle in Fenton incident

(Fenton, Arnold, Hillsboro) Two men from Jefferson County are now in custody and charged with several crimes after an incident on Sunday. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, 23-year-old Blake Steadham of Barnhart and 23-year-old Tony Bauer of Arnold approached a man in the 100 block of Sheffield Lane near Fenton as he was getting out of his vehicle, and Steadham allegedly pointed a gun at him and began a physical altercation. A female victim was still in the vehicle and claims Steadham then pointed the gun at her and demanded her cell phone. Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Grant Bissell says Bauer then entered the vehicle and began to flee the scene with the female still inside.

The stolen Patriot then traveled north on I-55 and Arnold Police began a pursuit as well as members of the Sheriff’s Office. The suspects then crossed into St. Louis County, when Arnold stopped the pursuit, but Sheriff’s Deputies continued to follow the vehicle with assistance from the St. Louis County Police Department.

Bissell says both Steadham and Bauer are charged with several felonies.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Arnold, St. Louis County, and St. Louis Metropolitan Police Departments, and Jefferson County 9-1-1 Dispatch for the assistance during the pursuit.
