Two Teens Injured in St. Francois County Car Crash

(Farmington) Two teenagers were injured Sunday morning in a one car crash in St. Francois County, one seriously.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash happened at 5229 ‘D’ Highway when a 16-year-old juvenile swerved the Chevy Cobalt she was driving to avoid an animal in the road.

The car skidded, ran off the road, struck an embankment, became airborne, overturned, struck a tree and then threw the young driver out of the car.

The driver received serious injuries and her passenger, another 16-year-old female, had moderate injuries.

Both were taken to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis for treatment.
