Two Teens Injured In Washington County Car Crash

(Washington County) Two juveniles were injured, one moderately, in a car crash on MO-21 in Washington County Monday morning. The 17-year-old male driver of a 2008 Chevy Equinox was making a right turn at Flamewood Road when 44-year-old Amie Martin of Potosi, driving behind the juvenile, was inattentive to the road and abruptly applied the brakes on her 1999 Chevy Lumina and began to skid. The front left bumper of Martin’s car struck the right rear bumper of the juvenile’s car. The 17-year-old from Cadet’s vehicle began to skid, rotated clockwise, overturned several times and the teenager was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a safety device. He was moderately injured, while a 17-year-old female passenger from Cadet received minor injuries. Both were taken to Washington County Memorial Hospital for treatment. Amie Martin was not injured in the crash that occurred just before 11:30 Monday morning.
