Two traffic crashes injures four on I-55 near Imperial Main Street

(Imperial) Four people were injured in two traffic accidents on northbound I-55 south of Imperial Main Street on Wednesday night. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the first accident happened when 40-year old Terry Brooks of Arnold was driving a 2012 Chevy Cruze at a high rate of speed, and struck a 2005 Ford F-550 driven by 43-year old Scott Niemetz of Arnold. Brook’s vehicle was stationary in Lane 3 after the first vehicle wreck and was struck by a Ford F150 driven by 43-year old Kristopher Shelton of Jackson, Mississippi. Brooks, along with four passengers in his vehicle, 24-year old Brenden Gaines of House Springs, 24-year old Minor Jones of House Springs, and 25-year old Ronald Stage of Fenton were all taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South with moderate injuries.

Brooks was later charged with three counts of Driving While Intoxicated Causing Injury. The accident took place a little before 10 o’clock Wednesday night.
