(Washington County) It was a deadly weekend on the roads in Washington County as two people were killed in separate accidents.

The first accident happened early Sunday morning.

The highway patrol says Wesley Timmons of Potosi was driving north on Route U when his Jeep Wrangler ran off the road and hit an embankment.

His vehicle became airborne and overturned.

He was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead by the Washington County Coroner.

The second accident happened Sunday afternoon on Highway 8 west of Folsom Road.

The patrol says Shane Gamble of St. Louis was traveling east on his Harley Davidson when he traveled into the westbound lane and hit a truck driven by Emily Jarvis of Macon.

Gamble was thrown from his motorcycle, which then caught fire.

Gamble was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jarvis was apparently uninjured in the accident.
