Update on Major Project at Red Bluff Recreation Area in Pucky Huddle

(Pucky Huddle) Employees with the Mark Twain National Forest continue planning and work for a big project ongoing at Red Bluff Recreation Area in Pucky Huddle in southern Crawford County.

The main goal is to move all camping sites to higher ground away from the flood plain of the Huzzah Creek.

Here’s Forest Ranger Becky Ewing.

Ewing says work is also underway on a new phase for the project at Red Bluff Campground.

Red Bluff Campground in Pucky Huddle is named for the towering red bluffs along Huzzah Creek, carved by the elements over the past 10-thousand years.

The area provides a serene spot for campers to enjoy nature.

Currently, the recreation area is closed according to the forest service website.

However, Ewing tells us all camping locations managed by the Mark Twain National Forest should be open by Saturday, May 1st.
