Valle Catholic Advances To Class 1 Volleyball Semi-Finals

The Valle Catholic Warriors grabbed back-to-back victories in the Class 1 volleyball state playoffs Saturday on their home floor in Ste. Genevieve. In the sectional round, Valle Catholic bested the Advance Hornets in two sets, 25-21 and 25-19, to advance to the quarterfinal round. They were met by the Lesterville Bearcats, who defeated the Gideon Bulldogs in two sets, 25-19 and 26-24. In front of a packed house at the Valle Catholic home gym, the Warriors battled with the Bearcats in two hard-fought sets.
After the match, Valle Catholic head coach Nancy Fischer says her entire team chipped in.
The Warriors, now at 30-3 on the season, will shift their focus to the Class 1 semi-finals. They will take on New Haven next Saturday at the Show-Me Center in Cape Girardeau.
