Valle Catholic and Thayer Meet Again in the Class 1 State Quarterfinal Saturday on J98

(Ste. Genevieve, Mo.) Class 1 State Quarterfinal action gets underway Saturday afternoon on J98 as the Valle Catholic football team hosts the Thayer Bobcats in a battle to determine who will make it to the final four next week.

These two schools have matched up in the Class 1 State Playoffs eight times since 2008, with Valle winning the last seven.

Thayer head coach Billy Webber says he knows Valle is one of the top programs in the state.

With Thayer’s last win against Valle coming all the way back in 2008, Webber says they will need to keep the Warriors’ offense off the field to flip the script and come out victorious.

Valle was able to avenge their loss to Hayti last year with an impressive 43-6 rout over the Indians this past Friday.

Warriors head coach Judd Naeger says because of last year’s early exit in the playoffs, things feel a little different this time around.

Naeger has high praise for the Thayer program and Coach Webber and says they’re a disciplined and well-coached team.
