(STE. GENEVIEVE) – In high school baseball action, the Valle Catholic Warriors staved off a comeback, winning 6-5 Tuesday afternoon over the Arcadia Valley Tigers on KREI. The Warriors came out strong with the bats in the first three innings, bringing in five runs.

Jacob Bieser had two RBI in the game. Valle Catholic built to a 6-0 lead after five innings, but in the sixth, the Tigers started coming back. They brought a couple of runs home with one out, then with the bases loaded and two outs, Kyle Helms came up big.

Arcadia Valley scored again to make a one-run game, but couldn’t find the tying run. Chris Loida earned the victory with only one earned run allowed through six innings of work. Warriors head coach Nathan Gegg said his team has been in tough positions before.

With the win, Valle Catholic improves to 8-3 on the season. Arcadia Valley falls to 4-5.
