(Sainte Genevieve) Valle Catholic adds another one of its students to the Regional Radio Dream Team in the form of junior running back Bryce Giesler.
Giesler became the first 1,000 yard rusher for Valle since 2013 and ran for 28 touchdowns. The junior added three receiving touchdowns while accumulating over 2,000 total yards of offense this season.
It’s the first time Gielser is on the Dream Team and he says it’s something he’s been working towards.
The junior made running look easy this year but he couldn’t do it himself. Gielser gave lots of credit to fellow Dream Teamers Noah Elbert and Collin Vaeth and the rest of the Warrior lineman.
Thirty-three touchdowns is a lot for one season but Gielser says one sticks out to him.
Gielser is referring to week four of the regular season when he caught a screen pass from sophomore Grant Fallert. He made one tackler miss and then another before cutting to the middle of the field and racing in for a 67-yard score.
The junior tells us what he enjoyed most about this season.
Gielser was also named to the first-team All Missouri Independent Team.
Valle Catholic made it to the Class 3 District 2 championship game where they lost to the eventual state champions St. Mary’s. The Warriors finished the season with a record of 10-1.
