Valle Catholic Wins State Baseball Championship

(O’FALLON, Mo) – The Valle Catholic Warriors are the Missouri Class 2 State Baseball Champions. Valle defeated the Mansfield Lions 12-5 Tuesday afternoon in a game heard on KREI. Mansfield struck first, but the Warriors answered back to tie it up.
The two teams traded a couple of runs in the second and third innings. Then in the fifth inning, the Warriors exploded with six runs on seven hits, all coming with two outs. Senior Chris Loida’s RBI double highlighted the burst.
Warriors head coach Nathan Gegg couldn’t be more proud of his ball club.
Loida said the team saved its best offensive performance for last.
The Warriors finish the season with a record of 25-9 and their fourth state title in five years.
