(STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo.) – The Valle Catholic Warriors dominated the 56th installment of the Old Settlement Rivalry with a 41-6 victory over the Ste. Genevieve Dragons Friday night on J-98. Valle used some strong defensive plays to win some good field position. Valle Catholic’s quarterback Chase Dunlap got the scoring started by running it in himself with goal-to-go.

Ste. Gen got the ball back and tried to go for it on 4th down, but the Warriors held strong.

Valle then made it hurt with a touchdown near the end of the 1st quarter from running back C.J. Stoll.

After another turnover from Ste. Gen, Stoll fired back with another touchdown.

Valle continued to pour it on as Dunlap reached the endzone once more at the end of the half.

Ste. Gen couldn’t come out of halftime strong, as Valle scored once more to extend the lead in the 3rd with Drew Bauman.

Finally in the 3rd, the Dragons’ Logan Gegg connected with Payton Matthews to break the shutout.

Valle added a third touchdown from Stoll before the end of the game, as he became the Applebee’s Player of the Game. Warriors head coach Judd Naeger said the defense set the tone in the victory.

Dragons head coach Ken Weik said there are a lot of things that need fixing for next week.
