(STE. GENEVIEVE) For the seventh time in eight years, the Valle Catholic Warrior baseball team is district champions.
The 6th ranked Warriors defeated Chaffee Red Devils 7-1 at home in the Class 2, District 3 championship Tuesday afternoon on AM 800 KREI.
The Red Devils jumped on top early with a one-run lead.

However, Valle pitcher Chris Loida ceased the Chaffee offense from further scoring. The Warriors pitcher allowed one run on four hits in six and one-third innigs while walking one and striking out eight.
Valle captured and maintained the lead with a four-run fourth, including back-to-back RBI doubles.

Valle Catholic improves to 21-9 and advances to the State sectionals on Monday.
Chaffee (20-2) was the No. 1 ranked team in Class 2.
