(STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo.) – Another edition of the Old Settlement Rivalry comes to J-98 Friday as the Ste. Genevieve Dragons welcome in their cross-town rivals, the Valle Catholic Warriors. The Dragons are coming off a 49-7 road win over Dexter the week before, and would like to back it back-to-back wins over Valle after breaking a five-game losing streak in the series last year. Dragons head coach Ken Weik said he hopes his seniors can cherish one more chance at playing the Warriors.

Weik said he likes having a good early-season test against the fifth-ranked team in Class 1.

Valle Catholic had a dominant road performance of its own in Week 1, defeating St. Vincent 36-7 in a game heard on J-98. Warriors head coach Judd Naeger said he hopes to keep up the same defensive intensity as the week before.

Naeger said his team will need to be ready for the deception part of Ste. Genevieve’s game.

Valle and Ste. Gen will square off at 7 p.m. Friday night. The Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show will begin at 6 p.m. on J-98.
