The championship games of the 30th annual Valley of Caledonia Basketball Tournament are set after Tuesday night’s semifinals.

The night started with the top-seed South Iron Panther girls pulling away from Lesterville for a 57-16 win.

Panther freshman Madison Ayers led an aggressive defense.

Ayers scored 12 points and was named Applebee’s Player of the Game.
Panthers head coach Lawrence Graves said his team is getting some big contributions from youngsters.

South Iron moves to 2-0 while Lesterville falls to 3-2.
The other girls semifinal saw West County cruise past Jefferson 74-29.
The Bulldogs leaned on junior forward Dori McRaven.

McRaven scored 22 points on her way to being Applebee’s Player of the Game.
Bulldogs head coach Bobby Simily liked his team’s offense a little more than their defense.

West County improves to 2-0 while Jefferson falls to 1-1.
The boys semifinals got under way soon after, and Bourbon knocked off Kingston 58-44 to get things started.
The Warhawks battled back after the Cougars cut a 10-point deficit in half by halftime.

Aaron Farris poured in 28 points to earn Applebee’s Player of the Game.
Warhawks head coach Devon Payne loves the way his team works together.

Bourbon moves to 3-0. Kingston drops to 2-1.
The final game of the night saw the Bunker Eagles roll past the Valley Vikings 62-38.
From the start, a freshman shined for the Eagles.

Sutton finished with 22 points.
Eagles head coach Jarod Kelly says the sky is the limit for the Applebee’s Player of the Game.

Bunker is now 3-0, while Valley goes to 1-4.
The schedule of games is now set for Thursday, with Lesterville and Jefferson facing off in the girls’ third-place game, and Kingston taking on Valley for the boys.
The championship games will feature South Iron and West County on the girls side, followed by the Bunker and Bourbon boys.
