Valley R-6 Approves The Addition Of Track & Field Teams
(Caledonia) At a July board meeting, the Valley R-6 school board approved the addition of track and field teams. Superintendent Jason Samples delivered the news to Regional Radio.
Samples says the hype for track and field has grown out of the cross country program that was added two years ago.
Bridgeman will be the head coach of the high school track and field team and Devon Barton will be the assistant and Junior High track coach. This process started over a year ago when Samples got an email from student-athlete Brylee Redinger.
Samples also mentioned another student-athlete, Carlie Loughary, that helped jump-start this dormant program.
Samples says it’s exciting to see students take this kind of initiative.
The Valley R-6 Vikings will begin to compete in track and field in the spring of 2024.
