(Caledonia, Mo.) A four-year player for the Valley Caledonia baseball team, Ethan Matthews has signed the dotted line to continue his playing career at Hannibal-LaGrange University in the fall.
He says he chose to play for the Trojans because the environment at the school was similar to the one in Caledonia.
A decorated player for Valley, Matthews was a multiple-time All-Conference and All-District selection as a shortstop for the Vikings.
He says Valley head coach Trent Hartley did a lot to help him develop throughout his career.
Coach Hartley says Hannibal-LaGrange is getting a player in Matthews who is dedicated to the game of baseball.
Matthews will be joining a Hannibal-LaGrange baseball team that went 20-32 in 2019 and was 7-12 this year before the season was canceled.
