Vehicle Thefts in Festus continues to be problem

(Festus) Police in Festus report thieves have struck early this season, already having stole a vehicle that was left unlocked and unattended while warming up during a chilly morning.

Captain Doug Wendel says the first case happened a couple weeks ago in the area around the Festus Post Office.

Captain Wendel had another important message to avoid being victim of vehicle theft.

Police say thieves will be on the lookout for easy targets such as started vehicles left unlocked during the colder months.
