(Centerville) Veterans from around the state held a rally outside the capitol rotunda last Friday in Jefferson City.

Veterans who attended are hoping to sway the Missouri Legislature’s opinion on an issue that is very important to veterans in the Show-Me State.

Randy Tollivar is the quartermaster with Reynolds County V.F.W. Post 6660 in Centerville.

He tells us about that issue.

Tollivar says a few years ago, the state legislature made big changes in how the Missouri Veterans Commission is funded and it has ended up hurting veterans in a big way.

Tollivar explains what that has led to.

Tollivar says you can help out the veterans by calling or emailing your local state senator or state representative to let them know you would like to see the Missouri Veterans Commission funding to be done the previous way and that’s through the states’ general revenue dollars.
