Viburnum Jazz Band Trip to Carnegie Hall is Latest Coronavirus Casualty

(Viburnum) 22 musicians in the Viburnum High School Jazz Band spent a lot of time raising money during the past year after the band had been invited to play historic Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The band and several parents were going to leave for their trip Friday morning.

However, the coronavirus has stopped another good time from happening.

Viburnum Superintendent Kent Sherrow says they received the bad news today that Carnegie Hall was closing its doors for a while.

We asked Sherrow what the Viburnum district has been doing to educate students and teachers about this new virus.

Spring break at Viburnum begins when the last bell rings Friday afternoon.

Students and teachers are scheduled to resume classes on Monday, March 23rd.
